Description and duties of the job: The Day Porter is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the facility during operational hours. This role supports daily building operations by providing ongoing cleaning, trash removal, restroom maintenance, and general facility support to ensure a positive experience for staff, guests, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness of common areas, hallways, and entryways throughout the day
Monitor and clean restrooms regularly, restocking supplies as needed
Remove trash and recycling from designated areas
Clean spills and address immediate cleaning needs promptly
Support event setup and breakdown as needed
Perform light cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping surfaces
Report maintenance issues or safety concerns to management
Maintain professional communication with staff, visitors, and supervisors
Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and follow instructions
Strong attention to detail and reliability
Ability to lift up to 2550 lbs and stand for extended periods
Prior janitorial or facilities experience preferred but not required
Work Environment: This position requires working indoors and occasionally outdoors while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in a professional environment
