Robert Half Plant Controller in Duncan, South Carolina
Description We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to oversee financial operations within a manufacturing environment in Duncan, South Carolina. This role is integral in ensuring accurate cost accounting, financial reporting, and month-end processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of manufacturing cost structures and standard accounting practices to drive efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and oversee all aspects of manufacturing cost accounting, ensuring accurate tracking and analysis.
• Implement and maintain standard cost accounting procedures to support production and operational needs.
• Lead month-end close processes, including reconciliations and preparation of financial statements.
• Analyze cost variances and provide actionable insights to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on financial objectives and reporting.
• Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal policies.
• Drive process improvements within the financial operations to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Train and mentor staff on accounting practices and financial systems. Requirements • Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting within an industrial setting.
• Strong proficiency in standard cost accounting practices.
• Familiarity with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of accounting regulations and compliance standards.
