Job Summary
The M&P NDT Dual Lab Technician is responsible for performance of testing, establishment of testing techniques, development and completion of test plans, data collection and analysis, as well as maintaining Production NDI processes. This Level 2 Technician role will also provide input into test plan creation and testing methodologies and will be a pivotal part of the Cirrus Materials & Processes Structures Team.
Schedule:
M-Th; 6am-430pm; Overtime as required
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
· Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
· Operate manual and automated NDT and M&P Lab equipment
· Build, inspect, test, and analyze parts and assemblies in accordance with written procedures
· Document inspection and test results in both paper and electronic forms as required
· Design, build, and certify reference standards for NDT
· Mentor, train, qualify, certify, and support Inspectors
· Maintain general knowledge of other NDT methods, product manufacturing, and inspection technologies which may be of use to Cirrus Aircraft
· Ability to layup, bond, and assemble composite materials using a variety of mediums including prepregs and wet layup, and different material types including carbon fiber, fiberglass, and adhesives.
· Proficient in the use of specifications, drawings, and verbal instructions to build and fabricate composite test panels.
· Strong creative mind that excels at solving problems and can successfully collaborate with a wide audience during the development of new technologies and designs.
· Knowledge of, or ability to learn to use laboratory equipment such as load-frames, strain gauges, extensometers, microscopes, cure ovens, fume hoods, composite layup tooling, relevant software, etc.
· Follow all safety standards and policies and ensure a safe operating environment, including use of appropriate protective equipment and identification of potential safety concerns.

· Trained and certified as a Level I Inspector in accordance with NAS 410 or ASNT SNT-TC-1A in UT
· Operational experience utilizing a range of NDT equipment and systems
· A two-year Associates degree in Composites Technology is desired but not required.
· Cirrus M&P Technician Level at hire (1, 2, 3, or 4) will be assessed based on directly relevant and overall work experience.
· 1 or more years of progressive experience with composite material fabrication and inspections within the aviation/aerospace industry, other relevant experience will be evaluated
· Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
· Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and high attention to detail
· Preference will be given to candidates actively pursuing an engineering degree.

· Perform physical requirements of the position, including use of inspection hand tools, NDT equipment, lift up to 50 lbs., pass eye examination
