Minnesota Power is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to model, perform, and review load flow analysis studies to optimize the reliability of the transmission system and keep the power flowing.

What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET EAC accredited program.
Four years or more of related engineering experience PLUS a Professional Engineer license * OR
Fifteen years or more of related engineering experience.
*A master’s degree in engineering may be equivalent for up to one year of related experience.
This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.
What You’ll Do
Shape the future grid by developing operating guides, supporting real‑time system operations, and ensuring safe, reliable transmission performance.
Analyze system events and power quality issues to uncover insights, recommend corrective actions, and help implement effective solutions.
Lead technical studies including steady‑state, transient stability, and short‑circuit analyses using industry‑standard tools like PSS/E, DSA Tools, and PSCAD.
Advance renewable integration and grid innovation through collaboration on IBR, HVDC/FACTS, large‑load additions, and regional planning efforts with MISO and neighboring utilities.
Champion regulatory excellence by supporting FERC/NERC compliance, maintaining accurate transmission facility ratings, and contributing superb technical communication across teams.

The expected annual compensation range for this position is $94,000 - $117,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
