Job Description:

We are looking for a highly capable and customer focused Field Service Engineer to support our growing customer base across Dublin and the surrounding areas, with some travel into Northern Ireland as required. This role is essential to ensuring our equipment operates reliably in the field, delivering exceptional service that drives both customer satisfaction and revenue growth.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will provide on‑site installation, maintenance, and repair of our equipment, acting as the primary technical representative for our organisation. You will diagnose issues, complete repairs efficiently, and identify opportunities to enhance service value, ensuring customers receive a seamless and professional experience.

This position requires a self‑motivated individual who is comfortable working independently, managing their own schedule, and adapting to varied customer environments. Strong technical skills, clear communication, and a commercial mindset are essential, as your work will directly contribute to operational uptime and service related revenue.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform on‑site installation, maintenance, and repair of company equipment across Dublin, surrounding regions, and Northern Ireland.

  • Diagnose technical issues efficiently, carrying out corrective actions to restore equipment performance and minimise customer downtime.

  • Deliver a high quality customer experience, acting as the primary technical representative and maintaining strong professional relationships.

  • Identify and promote service opportunities, including upgrades, replacement parts, and revenue‑generating activities aligned with customer needs.

  • Manage daily schedules and travel plans independently, ensuring timely arrival to customer sites and effective use of working hours.

  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including job reports, parts usage, and follow‑up actions within company systems.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and customer site requirements at all times.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, providing feedback on recurring issues, product performance, and customer insights.

  • Support continuous improvement, contributing ideas to enhance service efficiency, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.

  • Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle to a high standard, ensuring readiness for daily field operations.

Benefits

  • 25 days holiday, increasing to 30 days with length of service, plus bank holidays

  • Mobile Role across Dublin and Northern Ireland

  • Compensation – Base salary of €38,500 per annum, car allowance of €6,500 per year or company car, additional earnings through commission - potential to earn €1,000 per month commission (on target, not guaranteed)

  • Pension scheme in line with Irish auto‑enrolment rules, including a total contribution of 3.5% (with contributions from both employee and company). Employer match contribution up to 6% of basic salary.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in a field service, maintenance, or technical support role, ideally working with electro‑mechanical or similar equipment.

  • Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify faults quickly and implement effective solutions.

  • Technical proficiency in mechanical, electrical, or electronic systems, supported by a relevant qualification:

  • Hold or be willing to obtain A+/N+ accreditation within the first 12 months of contract

  • Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.

  • Commercial awareness, with the confidence to identify service opportunities and contribute to revenue growth.

  • Experience working on Dyson equipment, including electrical components, would be desirable but is not essential.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks across multiple customer sites.

  • Full, clean driving license, with the willingness to travel across Dublin, surrounding areas, and into Northern Ireland when required.

  • Strong organisational skills, including accurate completion of service reports, documentation, and parts usage records.

  • Comfortable working in varied environments, including customer facilities, workshops, and field locations.

  • Commitment to safety, following company procedures and site-specific requirements at all times.

  • Embrace technology, to enable greater efficiencies within the role.

  • Able work independently, with minimal supervision.
