Microsoft Corporation Critical Environment Technician in Dublin, Ireland
Overview
As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) in Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps our Datacenters up and running. This could be anything from coordinating with supplier/vendors, recognizing safe versus unsafe work environment, having a hands-on understanding of how critical environment equipment works, performing various types of maintenance, responding to onsite incidents while coordinating with other critical facilities professionals, and using telemetry and other platforms to monitor equipment performance and operations.
In this role, you will act as a Critical Environment (CE) QA/Document Controller, who will work as part of the Data Centre operational team, ensuring continuous uptime 24/7/365. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining all procedure documentation relating to CE operations onsite. This role involves close collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure accurate controlling and safeguarding of documents utilised and produced by the CE team.

Responsibilities
As the primary contact on site for CE Operational documentation, the CE QA/Document Controller will oversee the creation, review, management, and archiving processes.
Manage the creation and updating of all site procedures for the DC in accordance with our Runbook guidelines.
Schedule periodic reviews of existing procedures in accordance with SLA guidelines and collaborate with relevant staff to ensure timely completion.
Drive compliance by generating routine reports.
Certify that templates, classifications, and document details adhere to site standards.
Oversee the master procedure matrix on SharePoint for all site operating procedures of the DC, ensuring it is maintained according to site standards.
Lead our local electronic execution system- maintaining, creating, formatting, configuring, testing, and publishing documents.
Address CE technical support tickets within the JIRA system.
Maintaining our electronic execution devices.
Stay updated on runbook register by coordinating weekly meetings to notify the CE team of any updates or newly created procedures/processes that may affect operations.
Performs routine audits and quality checks on all documentation related to CE Operations.
Promote a growth mindset by implementing efficient and effective processes, continuously seeking best practices, and exploring new technologies to enhance daily CE operations.
Use past knowledge and experience, along with leveraging the team and organizational resources, to identify areas of improvement and innovation.
Streamlining and aligning documents throughout the campus.
Act as archiving champion for the campus, ensuring adherence to Microsoft’s retention policy procedure.
Engage proactively and maintain regular connections to support the broader CE team.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)
OR equivalent experience.
Background Check Requirements:
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications :
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND mission critical services experience (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)
OR Associate's Degree or technical trade certification (e.g., military, trade school), or higher-equivalent education AND mission-critical services experience (e.g., high-availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or related fields)
OR equivalent experience.
Experience in QA/Document Control management.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel an advantage.
Experience working with organisational change management and continuous process improvements.
Experience working on data analysis and reporting.
