The Opportunity
Due to continued growth in our Financial Services Audit practice, we are seeking an Associate Director to join our Asset Management team in Dublin or Cork. This senior leadership position offers exposure to a high‑quality portfolio of asset management and investment management clients, including investment funds, fund management companies, aviation leasing structures, SPVs and complex group structures.
This position is suited to an experienced audit professional ready to take on a broader leadership position, with responsibility for client delivery, people leadership and business development, while working closely with Partners and collaborating across the Grant Thornton global network.
Key Responsibilities
Client & Engagement Leadership
Take ownership of a significant and complex portfolio of Asset Management audit clients.
Lead the planning, execution and completion of audits across multiple entities and structures.
Act as a trusted advisor to Boards, Fund Managers and Finance Directors, building strong and sustainable client relationships.
Ensure engagements are delivered to the highest quality standards, in line with regulatory requirements and firm methodology.
Technical & Risk Leadership
Provide technical leadership on IFRS, Irish GAAP and asset‑management‑specific accounting and regulatory matters.
Review key audit judgements, ensuring robust risk management and compliance.
Support Partners with complex technical consultations and regulatory interactions.
People Leadership & Development
Lead, coach and mentor Managers and engagement teams.
Support performance management, talent development and succession planning within the Asset Management practice.
Promote an inclusive, collaborative and high‑performance working culture.
Business Development & Practice Growth
Support Partners in delivering the Asset Management growth strategy across Dublin and Cork.
Identify opportunities for new work, cross‑selling and expanded client relationships.
Contribute to proposals, tenders and market‑facing initiatives within Financial Services.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified.
A minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience within Asset Management / Financial Services audit, gained in a professional services environment.
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, Irish GAAP and funds‑related reporting.
Proven experience managing complex client portfolios and leading audit teams.
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to build trusted client relationships.
Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
