Job Description
The Accounts Payable function is a key operational component within a banking finance team and the wider corporate finance team, primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices leading to the execution of successful payments across multiple European and International jurisdictions. The role ensures strict adherence to internal controls, audit standards, and regulatory requirements while supporting the bank’s financial accuracy and reputation with a wider supplier base. This involves invoice validation, posting, reconciliation, issue resolution, and proactive engagement with stakeholders to maintain strong supplier relationships. This position contributes to operational efficiency, risk mitigation, and the overall financial integrity of the organisation.
Key accountabilities:
Process transactions, reconcile and maintain various accounts and ledgers.
Transactions processed and maintained may include; supplier invoices, supplier credits, expense reimbursements, statements, prepayments, audit requests and/or other accounting documents.
Ensures accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transactions processed.
Conducts research on discrepancies and makes appropriate corrections or adjustments.
Responds to and resolves inquiries with internal and external stakeholders.
Posts data, check and verifies data. Runs and prepares routine financial reports and analyses.
Create and maintain supplier records.
Skills & experience required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Five or more years of relevant experience
Considerable knowledge of bookkeeping practices and principles
Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to interpret data
Ability to manage multiple tasks
Ability to communicate effectively and clearly through English.
Proficient computer navigation skills using a variety of software packages including Microsoft Office applications
Additional information:
The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
This role is a fixed‑term contract (12 months). This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
