PROOFPOINT,INC. Sr. Software Engineer (Req#O004) in DRAPER, Utah
Job Description: Design and implement components of Proofpoints big data processing and analytics platform using modern technologies to handle billions of data points per day. Develop RESTful APIs in a micro-service architecture, while bringing fresh and creative ideas to large-scale system design, distributed computing, and information retrieval. Utilize deep knowledge of NodeJS, Python, Java, Golang, and C++, in addition to NoSQL and SQL database technologies such as Postgres, Cassandra, MongoDB, Couchbase, Redis, and DynamoDB. Apply cloud computing experience in AWS, GCP, and Azure to design and implement distributed algorithms. Telecommuting arrangement available.
Minimum Requirements:
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE: Eight (8) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
SPECIFIC SKILLS: Also requires background in:
Develop RESTful APIs, in a micro-service architecture using NodeJS or Java;
Create high level design documents that describe the implementation approach and review with the broader team;
Design and implement components of data processing and analytics platforms;
Implementing source control management, coding standards, code review, and build processes; and
Front end technologies.
