Position Overview

SmartLam North America, the leader in CLT and Glulam in North America, is a growing company looking for talented individuals for inside sales position. Under the guidance of the Glulam Sales Manager, the Glulam Sales Representative is responsible for developing and managing sales of glued laminated timber (glulam) products within assigned territories or accounts. This role focuses on building relationships with wholesale distributors, understanding glulam uses and requirements are critical to the success of the person filling this role. Hours may vary based on customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Sales and Business Development - Develop and execute sales strategies to grow glulam product sales within assigned territory - Quick turn quoting that enable our customers to succeed with their customers - Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers - Serve as the primary point of contact for customers - Resolve customer concerns related to pricing, lead times, and product availability

Qualifications and Skills:

Required - 3+ years of sales experience in construction materials, engineered wood products, or structural building systems - Strong understanding of construction processes and project timelines - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills - Willingness to travel within assigned territory

-Experienced in selling Wholesale Distribution

-Customer relationship building

-Phone skills

Preferred - Experience with other Engineered Wood Products - Knowledge of glulam standards

Education

Bachelors degree optional, relevant work experience required. Experience in Glulam Beam Sales or Engineered Wood Products preferred.

Work Environment

  • Preferred to be within 3 hours of Dothan, AL; Columbia Falls, MT, or Boise, ID. Office locations at Dothan, AL or Columbia Falls, MT but not required.
  • Mainly inside sales with remote work possible.
