Finance Assistant
$42,000 - $51,000 DOE This position is non-exempt and reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The Finance Assistant will lead and coordinate important tasks while providing significant support to Dothan Housing's (DH) financial management and operations department. This role involves performing data entry for a Move to Work (MTW) agency.
Major Responsibilities Manage systems for RAD PBV, PBV, HCV, Market-rate, nonprofit, and for-profit entities Process HAP and UAP payments, issue checks, and prepare cash requirement summaries Verify journal entries, general ledger postings, and registers for accuracy Prepare utility reimbursement checks, reconcile move-outs, and manage tenant payments Prepare budgets and distribute correspondence Process forms, requisitions, purchase orders, and transmittals per SOP's
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Ability to plan and manage diverse accounting functions with independent judgment Strong financial document preparation and communication skills Ability to interpret and explain regulations, policies, and procedures Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Strong verbal and written communication skills, customer service, and stress-management abilities
Experience And Education Bachelors degree in business administration, Finance, or Accounting Minimum 3 years experience; LIHTC, Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher programs, or other affordable housing programs GAAP Yardi software is a plus
