Southeast AL Youth Services Child Nutrition Manager in Dothan, Alabama
Southeast AL Youth Services is seeking an experienced Child Nutrition Manager to oversee food service operations within our juvenile detention facility, group homes, and SAYS Louisville facility. This position ensures compliance with USDA Child Nutrition Program (CNP/CACFP) standards, Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) requirements, Alabama Department of Public Health regulations, and Department of Youth Services (DYS) audit guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Plan and oversee meals that meet USDA and Alabama nutrition standards
- Ensure full compliance with DYS audit requirements and maintain accurate documentation
- Supervise kitchen staff and daily meal operations, group home staff, and SAYS Louisville kitchens on a rotation basis
- Maintain production records, inventory, and food budget
- Enforce food safety and sanitation standards
- Accommodate medical diets and food allergies
- Regular professional development as required by the CNP
Experience
- Experience in institutional, correctional, school, or large-scale food service
- Knowledge of Alabama Child Nutrition Program and DYS audit standards preferred
- ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass background screening
- Knowledge of Titan and Linq food menu programs.
