Overview
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our construction team. This role involves operating a variety of heavy machinery to assist in the construction, excavation, grading, and site development of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple types of equipment and a strong commitment to safety and precision.
* Responsibilities*
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, backhoes, and skid steers
- Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment
- Safely maneuver machinery in tight or high-traffic areas
- Load and unload materials, clear debris, and assist with site preparation
- Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors
- Collaborate with laborers and other trades to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies
- Report equipment issues or malfunctions promptly
* Qualifications*
- Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment
- Valid equipment operator certification or license (as required by state/local regulations)
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and hazard awareness
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
- Reliable transportation and punctuality
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus
