Position Overview:

The Director is responsible for 24/7 oversight of the Special Children’s Services (SCS) Department that services the entire agency. SCS staff ensures the well-being, safety and supervision of all youth placed on the Dobbs Ferry Campus. The Director has direct responsibility for SCS staff, schedules, campus fire drills, crisis management and management of safety and security during inclement weather or other emergencies. This role requires dedication to the Integrated Treatment Model (ITM), with a focus on skill-building, behavioral reinforcement, and fostering positive relationships. The Director must approach all situations with a nonjudgmental attitude and work collaboratively as part of the Residential Leadership Team.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree with 4 years prior experience in CW/OCFS/Juvenile Justice or security work OR corrections/law enforcement. Some college, 6 years prior experience in CW/OCFS/Juvenile Justice or 6 years management experience in child welfare/juvenile justice corrections/law enforcement field and demonstrated ability to write effectively and clearly, required. High School Diploma with 8 years prior experience in CW/OCFS/Juvenile Justice or 8 years management experience in child welfare/juvenile justice corrections/law enforcement field and demonstrated ability to write effectively and clearly, required. Completed New York State Training as Security Guard, required. Demonstrated proficiency in MICROSOFT Office, required. Effective oral and writing skills, expected
