Job Title: Dye Operator
Job Description
The Dye Operator sets up and operates a variety of machines to perform multiple fabrication and finishing operations on parts, including milling, drilling, tapping, hard-facing, and torch spraying. This role supports a production line by following established procedures, ensuring accurate setup, and maintaining quality throughout all stages of the dyeing and powdering processes.
Responsibilities
Operate and monitor equipment involved in up to eight different fabrication and finishing operations on parts.
Perform cutting operations using a mill, ensuring accurate measurements and clean cuts.
Perform topping operations using a mill according to production specifications.
Use drill presses to drill and tap holes in parts with precision and consistency.
Carry out hard-facing operations after milling and drilling are complete, following defined procedures.
Apply coatings by spraying with a torch, ensuring proper coverage and adherence.
Handle the powdering process with particular care, recognizing it as the most critical step for product quality.
Set up mills and related equipment correctly to support efficient and safe operation.
Inspect parts throughout the process to verify quality and identify any defects or issues.
Follow production line schedules and instructions to meet output and quality targets.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines while operating machinery.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address production issues and improve processes.
Essential Skills
Experience operating basic fabrication and production machinery, including mills and drill presses.
Ability to perform cutting and topping operations using a mill.
Ability to drill and tap using a drill press with accuracy.
Capability to perform hard-facing operations following established procedures.
Experience or strong aptitude for spraying with a torch in a production environment.
Attention to detail and careful handling of powdering processes, recognizing their critical impact on quality.
Ability to follow technical instructions, production procedures, and safety guidelines.
Willingness and ability to work in an outdoor environment in varying temperatures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Familiarity with mills and mill setup, even at a basic or trainable level.
Comfort working on a production line with multiple sequential operations.
Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple machine operations.
Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate larger concerns to maintenance or supervision.
Work Environment
This position is based in an outdoor production environment that is hot in the summer and cold in the winter, requiring comfort working in varying weather conditions. The role involves working around mills, drill presses, hard-facing equipment, and torch-spraying tools as part of a production line. You will spend most of the day on your feet, operating machinery and handling materials in an industrial setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Dinuba, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $20.00/hr.
