eciGroup Controller in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania
Position Summary
The Controller oversees day-to-day accounting operations across multiple companies that consolidate into a single entity for financial statement reporting and tax preparation. This role ensures accurate department-level profit and loss reporting, maintains compliance with accounting standards, supports an annual external audit, and supervises a team of accounting staff. This position is based on-site in Dillsburg, PA and operates on a full-time, Monday--Friday schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General Accounting
• Oversee monthly close of the books, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and departmental P&L reports across multiple entities.
• Analyze financial statement trends and identify variances requiring management attention.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare related reports.
Job Costing & Construction Accounting
• Analyze job cost trends, including over/under-billed positions and negative cash flow jobs.
• Reconcile job costs with the general ledger and work with project managers to ensure accuracy.
• Support management in calculating and reviewing payroll burden rates.
• Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements.
Audit & Compliance
• Supervise annual financial audit and serve as liaison with CPA firm.
• Oversee workers' compensation and general liability audits.
• Maintain internal controls and update accounting policies as needed.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Supervise, mentor and support a staff of four to five accounting employees.
• Ability and willingness to provide back-up to all accounting & HR functions.
• Collaborate with HR to integrate payroll and employee-related accounting functions.
• Handle sensitive payroll processing with confidentiality.
• Work cross-functionally to support financial and operational goals.
Systems & Process Improvement
• Utilize Viewpoint (Vista) construction accounting software for accounting processes.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Serve as a problem solver and resource for team members and management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3--7 years of progressive accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with construction accounting and job cost analysis strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Viewpoint/Vista or similar accounting systems.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
