PERDUE FARMS INCORPORATED Maintenance Technician III (2nd Shift) in Dillon, South Carolina

Summary

Join our team as a Level III Maintenance Technician. You will collaborate with a dedicated and diverseteam to support safe and smooth plant operations by continuously improving our machinery andmaintenance reliability. You will also have an opportunity to gain experience in your role and learn on thejob while you receive additional maintenance certifications and training. The Maintenance Tech III is anadvanced level of technician. Associates in this classification are required to have previous experience andknowledge of the fundamentals of industrial maintenance and systems, which is typically attained throughthe Maintenance Technician II classification and certification.

Principal and Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Performs highly technically complex tasks, demonstrates a higher degree of independence, and mayoccasionally make decisions.

  2. Must be able demonstrate/achieve and maintain Maintenance Tech III proficiency within 10 months ofhire.

  3. Diagnoses and repairs complex machinery, conducts preventive maintenance, and ensures productionefficiency.

  4. Provides Operators with support around machine overall equipment reliability. Collaborates well withproduction associates and other technicians to solve problems with reliability and urgency.

  5. May assist in troubleshooting equipment set up and production changeovers.

  6. Responds to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. Recognizes and report unusual, inefficient, ordangerous mechanical and electrical situations.

  7. Understands and follows all safety standards and quality protocols to ensure production exceeds thestandards. Learns and observe all safety precautions as required by Perdue.

  8. Utilizes appropriate safety precautions, methods, and apparatus to minimize and withstand exposure tochemicals, dust, and mechanical and electrical hazards.

  9. Maintains work records and prepare clear and concise oral and written reports.

  10. Works all required work schedules.

Minimum Education

High School Diploma or GED and Equivalent Experience.

Experience Requirements

5-8 Years experience in Industrialmaintenance, troubleshooting and repairs on Mechanical and Electrical Equipment, and/or EquivalentMilitary Experience. Expert Proficiency in Hydraulics, Mechanics, Electrical, Welding and Rigging.Intermediate Proficiency with PLC. Commitment to Continuous Learning to achieve increasing levels ofexpertise. Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing. Maintain Perdue Farms QEW Certification.

Experience Preferred

2-yr Technical Degree in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching overhead and/or at shoulder level, lifting (50 lbs.)and/or repetitive tasks throughout the day. Position requires occasional moving to other offices orbuildings. Day travel to nearby locations sometimes required.

When in a plant environment:

  1. Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  2. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  3. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
  5. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing plant.
