Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing electronic and electrical production machinery, including equipment powered by three-phase motors, in a wire manufacturing environment. You will perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repairs on complex automated systems to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic and electrical maintenance on production machinery, including equipment with three-phase motors.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using schematics, blueprints, and PLC diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

  • Conduct PLC troubleshooting and work with PLC control systems to support reliable machine operation.

  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and HVAC systems to minimize downtime.

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components to ensure smooth and consistent machine performance.

  • Use electrical troubleshooting techniques to resolve faults in wiring, controls, and power distribution on machinery.

  • Interpret and work from technical documents, including electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints, to guide maintenance activities.

  • Perform basic welding tasks as needed to support equipment repair and structural maintenance.

  • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to the appropriate team members.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring issues and suggesting maintenance or process enhancements.

Essential Skills

  • Experience as an electronic maintenance technician working on electrical machinery with three-phase motors.

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including the ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.

  • Hands-on experience with PLC troubleshooting and working with PLC control systems.

  • Proficiency in preventive maintenance for production equipment and facility systems.

  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics as they relate to industrial machinery.

  • Experience with HVAC-related maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting safely on live and de-energized equipment.

  • Capability to perform welding tasks required for equipment repair and maintenance.

  • Ability to work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule after completing training.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, especially with wire or building products, is beneficial.

  • Comfort working with complex automated machinery and production systems.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently when diagnosing equipment issues.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with production and maintenance teams.

  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and technical training.

Work Environment

You will work in a manufacturing facility that produces wire for building products, supporting a variety of production machines and systems. The position follows a 2-2-3 schedule, providing a rotating work pattern, with initial training conducted on a Monday–Friday day shift for 8 hours per day. The environment involves hands-on work with electrical machinery, three-phase motors, PLC-controlled equipment, and systems that use hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC. You can expect a typical industrial setting that requires adherence to safety procedures and appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dickson, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
