Overview
Carlson Design Group is seeking a highly talented Structural Engineer I to join our engineering team as part of our expanding business. Carlson's market focus includes Mission Critical, Light Industrial, and Commercial sectors.
Location: Detroit, MI, and includes some travel
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
Lead development of design solutions on projects of limited complexity
Prepare structural analyses and perform engineering calculations
Support the Structural Team Lead on sophisticated projects
Prepare schematic designs, Construction Documents, and specifications
Ensure completeness and accuracy of Construction Documents
Coordinate with other disciplines
Review shop drawings and submittals
Conduct field inspections and condition assessments
Prepare technical reports
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have:
BSCE in Structural Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Proficiency in structural analysis software (RAM structural suite, preferred), AutoCAD, and Revit
Strong attention to detail
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Competency in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
Understanding of model codes
