Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $18 - $18 / hour*
What you'll be doing as a Quality Inspector:
Inspect inbound and outbound scrap metal loads for quality, contamination, and grade accuracy
Identify and separate ferrous vs. non-ferrous materials as needed
Ensure materials meet customer specifications and company standards
Monitor for prohibited or hazardous materials (e.g., sealed containers, flammable items, radioactive materials)
Document inspection results, discrepancies, and rejected loads
Communicate with scale operators, yard staff, and management regarding load status
Assist with directing traffic and material flow within the yard
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations
Available shifts:
Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)
Job requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
Previous experience in scrap metal, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments preferred
Basic knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to make quick, accurate decisions
Ability to work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions
Good communication and teamwork skills
Reliable attendance and punctuality
Background check and drug screening required
