ManpowerGroup Material Area Supervisor in Detroit, Michigan

Our client, a leading automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a dedicated Material Area Supervisor to join their team. As a Material Area Supervisor, you will be part of the Material Handling / Production Operations department supporting the efficient and safe movement of materials within the plant. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Material Area Supervisor

Location: Detroit, MI

Pay Range: up-to $41.00 (based on experience)

Shift: Must be open to 1st and 2nd shifts, with potential rotation based on plant needs

What's the Job?

  • Lead teams to achieve targets in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.

  • Oversee material receiving, storage, line delivery, and inventory accuracy.

  • Ensure timely and efficient material flow to support production needs.

  • Coordinate daily work assignments and resolve operational issues.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and adherence to plant standards.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Strong computer proficiency: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint.

  • Proven ability to lead, communicate, and coach teams in a high-volume environment.

  • Ability to work 1st and 2nd shift; must be flexible to rotate if required.

  • Experience in a unionized work environment or exposure to lean manufacturing is preferred but not required.
