Henry Ford Health System Hematology/Oncology Clinical Trials | Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant | Henry Ford Health in Detroit, Michigan

Location:Brigette Harris Cancer Pavillion, 2800 W Grand Blvd Detroit, MI

Status:Full-Time | Days

Schedule:Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts.

Setting:100% Outpatient | Adult Patients

Call/Weekends:Weekends are not included at present, but in the future will have Saturday clinic hours. No call.

Hematology / Oncology Clinical Trials

Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health System is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join ourDetroit Hematology team. The start date and schedule areundetermined at this time, with potential as departmental needs are established. This role isnot open to new graduatesand requiresat least 1 year of APP experiencealong with1 year of oncology experience. Clinical trial experience—either as an RN or APP—is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

· Evaluate and treat work-related injuries and illnesses

· Manage bloodborne pathogen exposures and vaccination programs

· Perform medical surveillance and respirator fit testing

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines

Qualifications:

  • NP or PA graduate from an accredited program

  • Current Michigan licensure

  • National certification (ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA)

  • BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained after hire)

  • Oncology experience, 1-year clinical trial experience as RN or APP

Education & Training

· Nurse Practitioner (NP):Completion of a Nurse Practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

· Physician Assistant (PA):Completion of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

Licensure

· Current licensureas a Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Michigan, or in the process of applying (proof of application required)

Certification

· NP:National certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan (e.g., ANCC, AANP)

· PA:Certification by theNational Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Required Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)– required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)– required (may be obtained after hire)

DEA / Controlled Substance Licensure

  • PA:DEA and Michigan Controlled Substance License (CSL) required through credentialing

  • NP:DEA registration required through credentialing; NPs do not hold a Michigan CSL and will use their Michigan license number during the application process
