Actalent Drafter/Designer in Detroit, Michigan
Overview:
We are currently hiring Drafters/Designers for a few large projects. Individuals are able to sit/work out of Detroit, MI, Boston, MA or Seattle, WA. This individual will be responsible for creating detailed drawings of material handling equipment, work areas, and material handling components based on current examples as well as design support for future initiatives. Drawings will require a high level of detail in both plan views as well as corresponding elevation views in certain cases. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and will be able to work with very little direction, creating drawing sets that will standardize workspaces and designs across a large network of fulfillment operations.
Description:
Create detailed drawings of material handling equipment and work areas.
Develop detailed material handling components based on existing examples.
Provide design support for future initiatives.
Ensure high levels of detail in plan and elevation views.
Collaborate with the team to take designs and convert them into models.
Qualifications:
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Drafting and Design.
Minimum of 1 year of operating experience in CAD with the ability to work and manage layers.
Minimum of 1 year experience drawing in a warehouse or fulfillment center environment (Preferred)
Basic knowledge of material handling and storage systems would be beneficial.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Experience with AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Revit.
Strong communication skills to address various audiences.
Document management skills.
Organizational skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Detroit, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
