Under general supervision, compiles, reviews and maintains a variety of fiscal and program records, written materials and reports using multiple procedures, typing, computer and technical program knowledge. Maintains special data bases, mailing lists and manuals. Writes general correspondence. Provides technical advice to other office staff. Account for receipts and disbursement of money for standard accounts. Acts as the districts Adopt a Highway Coordinator.
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, Office & Administrative Specialist, Intermediate applicants must demonstrate all the following:
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, and other software applications to prepare reports, invoices, financial statements, and letters.
Customer service skills on the phone, in person and online to provide effective general and specialized office support.
Math sufficient to: add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals; calculate percentages; and use simple formulas.
Knowledge of communications sufficient to fluently communicate, read, understand, and respond to a variety of communications such as customers’ questions and detailed instructions and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience providing administrative support to a large office.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and demanding work environment with frequent interruptions.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work to meet deadlines while utilizing resources available.
