Aerotek Quality Control Technician in Des Moines, Iowa

Job Title: Quality Control Technician Job Description

Inspect precast and pre-stressed products to ensure quality complies with our client's and Precast Concrete Industry (PCI) standards. Perform housekeeping responsibilities and implement the 5S organizational methodology. Mark products with identification and appropriate visual markings per our client's Color Code System.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and maintain documentation of prepour inspections, postpour inspections, variance reports, bed shutdown processes, product repairs, shop drawings, fresh concrete testing, hardened concrete testing, aggregate moisture tests, sieve analysis, and initial set tests.

  • Inform the Quality Control Manager of any nonconformity of product, personnel issues, or equipment issues.

  • Perform duties in a professional manner.

  • Collaborate closely with the Quality Control Manager to ensure all quality control duties are executed.

  • Work closely with production personnel on product quality.

Essential Skills

  • General production and construction skills.

  • Experience in concrete finishing and quality control in construction.

  • Familiarity with rebar, carpentry, and concrete construction.

  • Ability to effectively use a tape measure and hand tools.

  • Experience with finishing, landscaping, sandblasting, and grinders.

  • Knowledge of precast concrete.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Six months of experience in the precast/prestressed concrete or related industry is preferred.

Work Environment

The team size is usually around 6 to 10 members. Dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and weather-appropriate attire. PPE such as safety glasses, hard hats, and hearing protection is provided.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
