Principal Financial Group New Business Analyst in Des Moines, Iowa
What You'll Do
As a New Business Analyst , you'll work in a fast-paced environment and form partnerships with our sales representatives and brokers throughout the US to provide all levels of quote support for group benefit product sales via a centralized Proposal Center.
Prepare complex group new business and cross-purchase proposals including reversions. Apply office level customization by understanding key broker relationships and assess benefits of current carrier to align Principal plan designs using high level of knowledge of our quoting process, screening for risks using underwriting and product guidelines. Follow-up for complete information and input into proposal system.
Work with sales offices and brokers to complete the quote as well as enhance the overall Principal relationship.
Research, answer questions and provide information and recommendations to internal and external customers.
Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Who You Are
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus 1+ years of related experience in group benefits services, marketing or sales preferred
Requires broad understanding of insurance operations, products and concepts
Requires strong planning, organizational, problem solving, analytical decision making and time management skills with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities
Requires effective verbal and written communication skills plus the ability to develop effective relationships
Must maintain high levels of productivity, quality and exhibit strong attention to detail
Must be self-directed and be able to accomplish work with limited supervision and general work direction
Must have strong skills in working with spreadsheets, formulas, graphs and tables
Occasional overtime may be required
Some travel may be required including overnight stays (5%)
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$20.33 - $36.35 / hour

Des Moines, IA/Lousiville, KY/Green Bay, WI: $21.47 - $28.77 / hour
St. Louis, MO/Pittsburg, PA/Charlotte, NC: $22.60 - $30.29 / hour
Denver, CO/Houston, TX/Chicago, IL/Minneapolis, MN: $24.86 - $33.32 / hour
Seattle, WA/Los Angeles, CA/New York City, NY: $27.11 - $36.35 / hour
Time Off Program
Personal Time Off (PTO) is provided to hourly (non-exempt) employees and provides a set amount of accrued time earned each pay period. Employees can use their PTO for vacation, personal or short-term illness.

Hours
Work hours are flexible post-training. Training will be from 8am - 4:35pm CST Monday - Friday.
Training can be fully remote.
Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
