Lab Associate
Job Description
The Lab Associate will be responsible for performing routine problem-solving tasks, conducting preliminary data analysis, and accurately managing large datasets. This role involves following assigned Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), assisting in their development, and testing protocols independently. The Lab Associate will also contribute to method development, validation, and formulation, as well as create and prepare product samples as needed. Generating consistent and accurate data is a key responsibility, along with assisting in report writing. The Lab Associate must be able to operate basic and intermediate lab equipment independently, perform basic maintenance on assigned lab equipment, and adhere to good laboratory and safety practices.
Responsibilities
Perform routine problem solving and preliminary data analysis.
Accurately check and manage large amounts of data.
Follow and assist in the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Test protocols independently and assist with method development, validation, and formulation.
Create and prepare product samples as applicable.
Generate accurate and consistent data.
Assist in report writing when needed.
Operate basic and intermediate lab equipment without assistance.
Perform basic maintenance and upkeep on assigned lab equipment.
Follow good laboratory and safety practices.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Chemistry, Quality Control, Laboratory, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Science, and Biochemistry.
Bachelor's Degree in a scientific field.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical and detail-oriented skills.
Laboratory skills.
Work Environment
This position is within the Research & Development division. It operates Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The work environment is collaborative and focused on innovation in the field of ingredient manufacturing, with a mission to enhance the quality of life for a large portion of the global population.

This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
