Aerotek Converting Operator in Des Moines, Iowa

Job Title: Converting Operator Job Description

Join a dynamic team as a Converting Operator in a cleanroom facility, where you will play a crucial role in the production of defibrillator pads for the medical manufacturing industry. This position involves setting up and maintaining various machinery, ensuring quality and efficiency in production processes.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, run, clean, and maintain machines according to work orders and drawings.

  • Ensure job processes and drawings are correct before production runs.

  • Inspect the quality of materials and work in process, checking for registration, debris, and print quality.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine-related issues, including tension, pressure, and settings.

  • Accurately process and handle associated paperwork.

  • Complete work in a timely manner according to departmental schedules.

  • Operate multiple machines fluently with minimal supervision.

  • Lead the hydrogel area team by demonstrating excellent attitude, work quality, work ethic, dependability, and company loyalty.

  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments as needed.

  • Maintain and improve 5S within the work area.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience using measuring devices such as rulers, comparators, calipers, and gauges.

  • Ability to communicate in English, including reading, writing, and understanding.

  • Capability to read and understand assembly drawings and build products accordingly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to push or pull 25lbs to 80lbs.

  • Experience with hand tools, machine operation, troubleshooting, mechanical assembly, and cleanroom documentation processes.

Work Environment

Work in a temperature-controlled, cleanroom facility dedicated to assembling medical devices. The facility supports a large team of 700 people. Enjoy the flexibility of sitting or standing while working, with adequate seating available. Dress code requires closed-toe tennis shoes, shorts or jeans, a long sleeve or t-shirt with a lab jacket/smock, and hair and beard nets at work stations. The shift is from Thursday to Saturday, 7am-7pm. Personal lockers are available, but bring your own padlock. The large break room accommodates lunch brought from home.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
