Woodside Middle School is seeking a7th Grade Science Teacherfor the2026–2027 school year. This position offers the benefit of a4-day student week, providing additional time for planning, collaboration, and work-life balance while working in a supportive middle school environment.

We are looking for educators who believe instrong instructional practices, classroom management and student accountability while using restorative practices to support student growth and repair relationships. Our staff works collaboratively to ensure students feel supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide engaging instruction aligned with Iowa Core Science Standards

  • Develop lessons that promote inquiry, problem-solving, and critical thinking

  • Establish a structured and supportive classroom environment

  • Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies rooted in restorative practices

  • Collaborate with grade-level and content teams and participate in professional learning

  • Use student data to inform instruction and support student growth

  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff

Qualifications:

  • Valid Iowa teaching license

  • 5-8 Middle School Science or 5–12 science Basic or K-8 Science or 5-12 science All

  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills

  • Commitment to relationship-building and restorative practices

  • Ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive school culture
