Pay: The daily substitute teacher pay rate is $160 per day. Long-term substitute teacher pay rate is $200/day. Bonus pay of $250 after 25 whole days of substitute teaching; an additional $250 after 50 whole days of substitute teaching; and $500 after 100 whole days of substitute teaching.

Scope: To help students develop knowledge, skills, and talents that will contribute to their talents in order that they may become productive citizens.

Reports to: Building Principals

Requirements: Meets licensure requirements of the Department of Education

Performance Responsibilities:

• Follows/plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the needs, interests, and abilities of students

• Creates a climate that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students

• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of stated goals and objectives

• Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for the implementation of the school district's student achievement goals

• Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the substitute teaching position

• Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning

• Demonstrates competence in classroom management
