Special Education Structured Learning Teacher:Park Hill Elementary School is seeking a Structured Learning Special Educationteacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary is based on experience and education: \$50,003 - \$85,354
The regular teacher contract is currently 184.5 days.
ESOL Endorsement Requirements:\ Elementary classroom teachers, as well as middleand high school level language arts teachers are required to hold an ESOL endorsement by the end of their third year with the district. Currently, this endorsement can be added by testing (no college courses are required). The district will provide a study session for the praxis exam andreimburse teachers for cost of 1 exam.\ \ Special Education Teacher\ Responsible to:Director of Special Services and Principal\ Salary:Annual Contract\ \ Qualifications:\ 1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.\ 2. Current Kansas State Teaching License with appropriate special education endorsement on file in the Central Office.\ 3. Facilitate the personal, social and intellectual development of students.\ b. Establish a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.\ c. Comply with all district policies, rules and regulations.\ \ Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:\ a. Requires the ability to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods.\ b. Occasionally requires move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials.\ c. Occasionally requires the ability to stoop, bend and reach.\ d. Requires the ability to occasionally travel.\ e. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.\ f. Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments.\ g. Requires regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.\ \ General Responsibilities:\ 1. Assist in the early recognition and prevention of educational concerns.\ 2. Participate as a team member in the c mprehensive evaluation, review and re-evaluation\ process when requested.\ 3. Coordinate the development and implementation of students\' Individual Education Plan (IEP).\ 4. Plan and implement effective lessons based on the student IEP\'s, using time, materials and resources effectively.\ 5. Implement training and other activities as recommended by related service providers, including occupational and physical therapists.\ 6. Monitor student progress and make informed, timely educational decisions.\ 7. Motivate students through effective communication and evaluative feedback.\ 8. In conjunction with the IEP team, provide the students with the least restrictive environment for all IEP goals.\ 9. Demonstrate awareness of the needs of students and provide for individual differences.\ 10. Set high expectations for student achievement and behavior.\ 11. Direct and supervise the work of special education paraprofessionals as assigned.\ 12. When working in the general education classrooms, establish and maintain a positive climate for learning working in concert with the general education instructors.\ 13.
