As a Production Technician III with PCB Piezotronics, Inc., you will perform a variety of production assembly tasks, including a commitment to quality, Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS), safety rules, maintaining manufacturing standards and utilizing written procedures and documentation where appropriate. Production tasks require the ability to follow written/verbal instructions and a thorough knowledge of techniques, materials, tools and equipment.
Additional Duties:
Responsible for all functions of Tech II.
Responsible for knowing, using, and instructing others on proper ESD procedures as outlined in the ESD manual. Instructs others on manufacturing standards (such as ISO 9001, AS9100, TCS).
May inspect other technician’s workmanship and special processes of an operation that was performed ensuring quality before handing into next operation.
Shows commitment to and assists in the instruction of quality and total customer satisfaction through dedicating skills to achieve zero defect status.
Participates in Yield Improvement Teams and KATA projects
Flexibility to work in various product groups as needed to support production volume.
Works with other technicians, engineers and departments to verify existing and assist in creating new processes, assembly methods, sensor technology, and assembly procedures.
Knowledgeable in the use of all assembly equipment in the department and is able to make minor repairs to equipment when necessary
Performs all necessary tasks efficiently and accurately by following established written procedures and recommends improvements or changes to procedures.
Maintains up to date knowledge of various product lines, in their present group and other in house procedures and capabilities through quality alerts and updated procedure training.
Works with engineers to apply technical background knowledge to engineering projects and perform simple failure analysis on product designs.
Conducts various experiments which may require modifications in assembly setups or procedures. Uses experience to create new or verify existing assembly methods.
Suggests modifications to or alternate Assembly methods for new or complex products or projects. Readily offers technical advice. Assists in writing technical documentation such as manuals and procedures.
Responsible for coordinating with engineering on projects, with Leadership oversight.
Performs other related duties as directed to.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- High school graduate or GED
Experience:
3 – 6 years of relevant work experience.
Familiar with most concepts of sensor designs within a product group.
Must have a background in soldering, cleaning, ESD control, spot welding, epoxying, and other assembly processes, computer skills, and have a basic electronics background.
Must have good problem solving skills. Able to troubleshoot build issues, and make recommendations on findings.
