Heavy Equipment Operator

  • Job Type: 6‑month contract

  • Location: Denver Metro, CO • Salt Lake City, UT • Rocky Mountain Region

  • Work Setting: Fully On‑Site

  • Travel: Required (projects average 2 months)

  • Schedule: Primarily days; 10% night work

About the Role

  • We are seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to support geotechnical construction projects involving specialty foundation systems and ground improvement work. Projects include a mix of commercial, civil, and industrial sites.

  • Operators will split their time between equipment operation (50%) and labor-intensive tasks (50%). This role requires flexibility, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including:

  • Front-end loaders

  • Dozers (including mini dozer D3)

  • Skid steers

  • Backhoes

  • Mini excavators

  • Water trucks

  • Tie-back drills / soil nail drills

  • Perform a variety of on-site tasks:

  • Digging, trenching, compacting

  • Moving materials, lumber, beams, and rock

  • Unloading trucks & cutting beams

  • Vibrator operation

  • Concrete pumping / micropile work

  • Participate in daily safety orientations and follow all site safety protocols

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of heavy equipment operating experience on civil, geotechnical, earthwork, or commercial construction projects

  • Proficiency with:

  • Skid steer

  • Front-end loader

  • Forklift

  • Dozer

  • Hands-on labor experience, including concrete or general site labor

  • Ability to lift 75+ lbs, work outdoors, and travel as required

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • General labor or concrete experience

  • Experience with geotechnical drilling, tie-back drilling, or soil nail installation

  • Familiarity with equipment brands such as John Deere or Komatsu

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Denver, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
