Your role and responsibilities
This role will be onsite in Colorado Springs five days a week. Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.
As a Systems Administrator specializing in UNIX Operating Systems and LINUX, you will be responsible for installing, managing, and upgrading UNIX/LINUX based systems and servers. Your focus will be on maintaining the performance, reliability, and security of these systems.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Install and Manage Systems: Install, configure, and upgrade UNIX/LINUX based systems and servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Maintain System Security: Apply patches and upgrades to maintain system security, and ensure that system backups are properly configured and functioning.
Troubleshoot Issues: Identify and resolve technical issues, providing routine automation and technical support as needed.
Implement Security Policies: Develop and enforce security policies to protect system integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
Provide Technical Support: Offer technical assistance and support to ensure seamless system operations and minimal downtime.
Required technical and professional expertise
UNIX/LINUX System Administration: Exposure to installing, configuring, and upgrading UNIX/LINUX based systems and servers, with a focus on maintaining performance, reliability, and security.
System Maintenance and Security: Experience working with patch management, upgrades, and security policies to ensure system integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
Technical Troubleshooting: Exposure to identifying and resolving technical issues, with an emphasis on providing routine automation and technical support.
System Backup and Recovery: Experience working with system backups, ensuring they are properly configured and functioning to minimize data loss.
Security Policy Implementation: Exposure to developing and enforcing security policies to protect system integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
Active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required
Preferred technical and professional experience
System Automation Tools: Exposure to automation tools that can streamline system administration tasks, such as scripting and scheduling.
Advanced Security Measures: Experience working with advanced security measures, including intrusion detection and prevention systems.
Performance Optimization: Exposure to optimizing system performance, including monitoring and tuning system resources.
