Job Overview
The Summer Accounting Intern will support the Hotel & Restaurant Accounting (HRA) and Treasury teams with key finance and accounting projects across a multi-property hospitality portfolio.
This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate property accounting, cash management, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes. The intern will gain real-world experience working within a shared-services accounting environment that supports multiple hotels and restaurants, complex ownership structures, and evolving treasury operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting student seeking practical experience in hospitality finance, corporate accounting, and treasury functions.
Location: Sage Home Office
Duration: Summer Internship (May–August, flexible based on academic calendar); opportunity to return at breaks
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
HRA Accounting Support
Assist with preparation of monthly financial statement support schedules
Participate in special projects related to fixed asset and financial reporting improvements
Assist with process documentation and identify opportunities for efficiency
Treasury & Cash Management Support
Assist with cash forecast preparation and variance tracking
Support treasury process improvement initiatives
Learning & Development Opportunities
During the internship, the candidate will gain exposure to:
Multi-property financial statement preparation
GAAP-based accounting in a hospitality environment
Cash flow forecasting and treasury management
Audit support processes
Cross-functional collaboration with Operations Finance and property teams
Real-world Excel modeling and financial analysis
Ideal Candidate Profile
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior preferred
Strong academic performance
Demonstrated leadership experience in academic, athletic, or professional settings
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Interest in hospitality, corporate finance, or treasury operations
Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework in Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, or Statistics
Experience in leadership roles, team management, or operations
Interest in financial markets, business operations, or entrepreneurship
What Success Looks Like
By the end of the internship, the intern will:
Understand the structure of property-level financial reporting
Be able to prepare basic reconciliations independently
Demonstrate understanding of cash management processes
Contribute meaningfully to at least one treasury or accounting process improvement project
Present a summary of their summer project(s) to HRA leadership
Work Environment
Primarily indoor office environment within a collaborative corporate finance team.
