Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a remote, contract basis in Denver, Colorado. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial processes and maintaining compliance with internal controls during a high-volume period. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to critical accounting operations while collaborating with other finance professionals.
Responsibilities:
• Perform comprehensive bank reconciliations to ensure account accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage the accounts payable inbox and oversee weekly AP processing, taking full ownership of the function from day one.
• Review and accurately code credit card transactions, verifying proper documentation and adherence to company policies.
• Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger adjustments.
• Support the external audit process, focusing on the analysis and review of revenue transactions.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with established controls.
• Handle account reconciliations to verify financial data integrity and prepare necessary adjustments.
• Contribute to revenue-related tasks, including identifying and analyzing revenue streams.
• Provide expertise in managing high-volume accounting operations efficiently and effectively.
Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close activities, including journal entries and general ledger work.
• Strong proficiency in handling account and bank reconciliations.
• Familiarity with external audit processes and requirements.
• Knowledge of revenue generation and management of diverse revenue streams.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of accounts payable functions.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure financial accuracy.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
