Job Overview
Provides accounting support for multiple centralized properties, including preparation of monthly financial statements, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, and tax filings. Supports cash management activities including A/P disbursements, cash forecasting, funding requests, and ownership distributions. Applies accounting discipline to complex ownership structures and communicates directly with ownership groups regarding financial results. Performs detailed account analysis across balance sheet, income, and expense accounts. Supports financial and sales/use tax audits and ensures compliance with company policies, contractual obligations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Acts as a senior contributor by supporting process improvement initiatives, assisting with training of less experienced accountants, and partnering with leadership and operations teams.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
For multiple properties assigned:
Ensure all month-end duties, including financial statements, reconciliations, and tax filings, are accurately completed and submitted in accordance with accounting deadlines.
Prepare and maintain journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, balance sheets, and income/expense accounts to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
Prepare, file, and support timely payment of monthly/quarterly/annual sales, use, occupancy, and property tax filings.
Support cash management processes including cash forecasts and funding requests.
Assist properties with accounting needs, applying Sage SOPs, GAAP, and USALI standards.
Provide accounting and financial support (including special projects) to on-property finance teams, VPs of Operations, and Sage leadership.
Assist with annual budgets and forecasts, including analysis of fixed and variable costs.
Provide support of Ownership reviews and external audits, including preparation of requested documentation.
Assist in training and mentoring of less senior members of the accounting team; serve as a resource for accounting questions and best practices.
Promote open communication and a positive team environment.
Escalate sensitive accounting-related issues to leadership in a timely manner.
Compile corporate and property-level reports to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
All other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
SUPERVISORY DUTIES
None direct; provides guidance, training, and mentorship to less senior accountants.

Qualifications
Education/Formal Training
4-year degree in Accounting or related field.
Experience
4+ years of relevant accounting experience; hospitality experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Strong understanding of general ledger, balance sheet, and income statement reporting
Preparation of bank and balance sheet reconciliations
Working knowledge of GAAP and USALI
Experience with sales, use, and occupancy tax filings
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
Experience with M3 Accounting Core, ProfitSword, Blackline and PMS systems preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to train and mentor junior staff without direct supervisory responsibility
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interpret contracts and financial documents
