Burns & McDonnell Remediation Project Manager - Environmental Services (Denver) in Denver, Colorado

Description

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Remediation Project Manager to join our Environmental Services global practice in Englewood, CO. This role is ideal for a motivated remediation professional with experience in performing and managing all aspects of environmental site assessment and remedial design, including initial site assessment, development of conceptual site models, contaminant fate and transport, and remedial action design and implementation. This role combines technical leadership, client engagement, business development, and team mentorship responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams, providing technical direction, oversight, and quality review of environmental site assessment and remediation projects

  • Act as a technical resource for environmental remediation and engineering projects, including remediation system evaluation and design, groundwater monitoring and statistical reporting, and remedial construction oversight.

  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing communication, scope, budget, schedule, and overall project performance

  • Oversee project execution, including responsibility for resource management forecasting.

  • Monitor and report on project progress, financial performance, schedule, risks, and key issues

  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost controls

  • Support and drive business development efforts, including client relationship management, market growth strategies, and proposal development.

  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across project teams.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through active participation in meetings and strategic discussions

  • Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, environmental science, or civil, environmental or related engineering program from an accredited program.

  • Professional licensure, as applicable to degree program.

  • Minimum of 7 years of environmental site assessment and remediation experience, including project management responsibilities. Consulting experience is preferred.

  • Experience investigating and managing CCR-related projects for power generation clients strongly preferred.

  • Experience with emerging contaminants of concern including PFAS and coal combustion residuals (CCR) is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of geologic and hydrogeologic principles and corrective action and remedial processes.

  • Demonstrated project experience with environmental regulation and agency coordination (EPA, state agencies, etc.).

  • Proficiency in groundwater statistical evaluation software and environmental data database software.

  • Experience directing and reviewing work products prepared by early career staff.

  • Experience with project scheduling, cost analysis, financial forecasting, and work sequencing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and regulators

  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (and annual updates) is required.

  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills

  • Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.

  • Available for travel as necessary (up to 25% travel).

Compensation

$145,000.00-285,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
