We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented
Project Manager,
OSP Service
Assurance for the Night Shift
to oversee and manage the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of outside plant (OSP) break/fix projects
and emergency restoration
for our telecommunications infrastructure
, supporting
network
restoration and
maintenance 24 hours, seven days a week, 365 days a year
.
This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, resources, and cross-functional teams to ensure the
timely
and successful repair of our network. The ideal candidate will have
extensive experience in project management within the telecommunications industry, with a focus on OSP projects
Hours: The Project Manager, OSP Service Assurance role works the Night Shift and works Remote in the United States.
- (4-day work week) 10 hours shifts: Mon-Fri or variation. (could be off on Tues or Wed) - Thurs is mandatory.
Weekend On Call: On Call rotation: (4) staff working the weekend (taking @10 calls for the weekend)/Rotation = every 6 wks. - Sat 7am-Mon 7am - may be adjusted for headcount availability. Weekend Hours are:
- 7p - 5a
- 10p - 8a
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:Emergency Response Team
- Lead and manage the planningand execution of outside plant break/fix frominceptionto completion. Manage Trouble Ticket Notifications.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets forprojects asrequired.
- Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, construction, design) and external stakeholders (clients, vendors, contractors) to ensureSLAobjectivesare met.
- Oversee OSP activities, including fiber placement, splicing coordination, make-ready support, restoration, and maintenance.
- Ensure work aligns with construction prints, permits, and engineering specifications.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Oversee project budgets, ensuring costs arecontrolled,and projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Establish, monitor, and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of deliverables and supporting workflowsin order tomeasure operational performance,as well asidentify and assess areas of opportunity for improved process efficiencies and performance.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project requirements,includingmanpower, equipment, and materials. Timely update of budget requests, purchase orders, project close outs.
- Risk Management:
- Identifypotential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to avoid delays or budget overruns.
- Resolve any issues that ariseduring the course ofthe project, including procurement delays, resource shortages, or technical challenges.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Maintain clear and continuous communication with all stakeholders, including clients, senior management, project teams, and vendors.
- Prepare regular progress reports and updates on project status, addressing any concerns or changes to scope, cost, or schedule.
- Manage andmaintaincustomer communications in partnership with the NOC throughout Fiber restorationand maintenanceprocesses
- Work jointly with the leadership from the NOC, Construction, Project Management, Engineering, and Change management teams.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the project is completed in co pliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits throughout the project to ensure adherence to design specifications and industry best practices.
- Contract and Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring their performance aligns with project requirements and timelines.
- Review and manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes as needed.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure that all project-related documentation, including contracts, permits, and reports,isproperlymaintainedand stored.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, permits, and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have working knowledge of structuredcablingand routing.
- Must be familiar with: MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, Google Earth.
- Proven experience managing large-scale OSP projects, including fiber optic and cable installations.
- Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively.
- Must be able to read and understand construction documents.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project conditions.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control, and construction standards in OSP projects.
- Ability to pass MVR check and drive company vehiclein accordance withFleet Policy.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent,required.
- Bachelor's degreerequiredin Engineering, Construction Management, Telecommunications, or a related field, preferred,oradditionalyears of experience may be used in lieu of thispreference.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the telecommunications industry with outside plant, fiber optics, telecommunication architectures, optical transport equipment, and project management experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to visit project sites andwalk inconstruction areas.
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
- Ability to handle stress and multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Estimated base salary range: $77,100 - $90,000 USD/annually
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
