Position Description:

SourceBlue Electrical Subject Matter Expert accountable for Estimating and

Procurement functions throughout preconstruction phase.

Essential Duties & Key

Responsibilities:

  1. Interdepartmental collaboration and cross-functional teamwork. Ability to meld into team and provide support where needed.

  2. Facilitate communication and coordination across departments to ensure project success.

  3. Develop and maintain relationships with clients, architects, design community, and Trades to enhance future SB business development opportunities.

  4. Oversee and manage processes to review drawings, specifications, and other construction documents; inform SB senior management of design-related problems, completeness of documents, and other potential risks.

  5. Solicit vendor pricing for SB project estimates and budgets.

  6. Develop and issue bid packages to vendors. Assess vendors' bids against contractual requirements and prepare bid analysis for project team review.

  7. Assess vendor contract terms and specified packages. C coordinate review with SB Supply Chain Project Executive and SB National team, close the bid process, and communicate awards to vendors.

  8. Collaborate with SB Procurement & Supply Chain Team to develop and evaluate procurement schedules and resources and analyze subcontractor proposals.

  9. Management of developing lump sum/GMP/Cost Plus bids and estimates, and review for SB senior management approval.

  10. Perform design assist/ design build functions.

  11. Manage and oversee Value Engineering process during preconstruction. Recommend alternatives for strategic SB supply chain awards for final product selection by stakeholders.

  12. Generate, coordinate, and manage Budget Control Reports between each milestone estimate to manage cost events and value engineering opportunities. Provide variance reports for each milestone estimate to communicate scope development for each project stakeholder..

  13. Coordinate and review development of General Conditions/General Requirements (GC/GR) estimate.

  14. Provide guidance related to purchasing, product, technical, and supply chain to SourceBlue (SB) project teams.

  15. Coordinate with SB Operations Team to support Launch Matrix preparation, scheduling, evaluating, executing, and managing meetings for each estimating milestone.

16. Collaborate with SB Operations Team to complete Constructability Reviews for Launch Matrix and incorporate into milestone estimates to extent required by contract.

  1. Coordinate with Lean Manager to develop and execute Pull Plans for design, estimate, and GMP schedules.

  2. Serve as advisor and subject matter expert of assigned SourceBlue core products (mechanical or electrical) for assigned projects.

  3. Conduct market research information for upcoming work.

  4. Maintain local and national historical estimating data and develop cost trends.

  5. Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field of study, with minimum of 10 years of building construction experience required, or equivalent combinat on of education, training, and experience

  2. Experience with variety of building construction types

  3. Thorough understanding of drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, construction materials, means, and methods

  4. Ability to provide accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis of estimating documents

  5. Thorough knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing and engineering principles and techniques, and accounting principles

  6. Ability to develop client relationships, identify sales opportunities, and collaborate on solutions to secure work

  7. Extensive knowledge of construction regional market, competition, and industry trends

  8. Able to manage high volumes of work and ability to move projects forward in a complex environment in a timely manner

  9. Negotiation skills with ability influence and engage others

  10. Effectively work across levels within organization

  11. Pursues everything with energy, drive and sees initiatives through to completion

  12. Process and critical thinking skills with sound judgement in decision-making

  13. Ability to leverage continuous improvement concepts, methodologies and tools

  14. Proficient computer skills and Microsoft Office suite of applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

  15. Significant experience in desired discipline noted above.

  16. Basic experience in other MEP and Architectural/Structural design and procurement.

annualized*
