Job Summary and Qualifications
Interventional Radiology is a sub-specialty of radiology in which minimally invasive procedures are performed using image guidance. These doctors specialize in using nonsurgical techniques for targeted treatments.
The Lead Technologist in Interventional Radiology oversees the day to day flow of procedures in IR and directs the staff as to case assignment. Serves as the Lead Technologist collaborating with all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Supervises the IR Technologists; including staffing, and oversees and directs assistive personnel as assigned by CNC. The IR Lead Tech assists the CNC in determining staffing needs and identifying problems. Oversees IR department inventory. The IR Lead Tech partners with the CNC to achieve unit productivity and budgetary goals. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What qualifications you will need:
Completion of an AMA approved Radiology Technology training program with current certification by ARRT.
Must maintain current registry by attending continuing education activities to maintain knowledge and skill level.
Current ARRT RT(R)(VI) or (CV) and current BLS Required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
At least 2 years' Interventional Radiology experience and charge experience highly preferred
Associate Degree
No Travel Required
2 years experience required
