GovCIO Application Developer in Denver, Colorado

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a skilled Application Developer to join our team. You will be responsible for the full development lifecycle, from interpreting complex business requirements to deploying high-quality Java-based solutions. This role requires a blend of analytical thinking to understand large-scale system architectures and technical precision to maintain and enhance existing codebases.

Responsibilities

In support of a complex financial application, your duties will primarily revolve around understanding the application to develop software by writing Java code and modifying software to fix errors, adapt it to new hardware, improve its performance, or upgrade interfaces. To be successful in this role, you will need to be proficient in Java development and in modern frameworks like Spring Boot. Core competencies as follows:

  • Ability to gain a full understanding of the client’s financial application

  • Analyze business requirements to best define and design application solutions

  • Perform modifications to and maintenance of operational programs and procedures.

  • Performs unit testing of developed code/changes against the application

  • Participates in code reviews to represent reviewed work for adherence to standards and specifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor's ( or commensurate experience ) with 8+ years experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise in designing and enhancing large-scale software applications

  • Expertise with Java based development and frameworks

  • Expertise with SQL and relational databases

  • Experience with code version control (Git and SourceTree preferred)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Java IDE (Eclipse or Spring Tool Suite)

  • Linux Scripting

  • Jira

  • Jenkins

  • Gradle

  • JBoss

  • MS SQL Server

  • IBM Workload Scheduler (IWS - formerly Tivoli)

Clearance Required: Able to acquire and maintain Public Trust Suitability

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $110,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
