Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Systems Integration Engineer who will be responsible for implementing, configuring and supporting digital payment and transaction systems within PayFac platform. This role is both technically skilled and customer-focused—someone who can translate business needs into smooth integrations between software, hardware, and secure network environments. This includes everything from coordinating client setups and testing to troubleshooting live environments and ensuring continued operational performance.
Essential Functions: Animal Health - Companion
Lead the technical implementation and configuration of payment systems for new and existing business clients, ensuring seamless integration with internal and third-party applications. This includes point of sale integrations and gateway setups.
Own technical end-to-end deployment of merchant environments—testing transactions, funding, and reporting functionality prior to go-live.
Analyze transaction logs, API calls, and gateway responses to diagnose issues in real time.
Troubleshoot complex/ tier 3 network, connectivity, and terminal issues both remotely and on-site when necessary.
Provide training and documentation to internal teams on proper system operation and maintenance.
Contribute detailed records of configurations, integrations, and versioning within CRM and technical systems.
Collaborate with product and development teams to test enhancements, API updates, and new integration pathways.
Monitor system performance of active integrations and proactively identify opportunities for optimization or automation.
Follow compliance with PCI DSS, SOC 2, and other applicable data-security standards.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience
5 years related experience. Minimum 3 years of experience in FinTech, payment processing, or POS integration support
Preferred Requirements
Experience in payment facilitation (PayFac) or ISO environments.
Experience installing, configuring, or supporting payment terminals, gateways, or point-of-sale software
Experience with integration testing, API key management, and terminal certification
Experience working with FIS, Elavon, Payrix, Stripe, or Fiserv platforms
Skills and Abilities
Strong understanding of merchant transaction flows, funding timelines, and settlement reconciliation.
Familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, and secure network connections (SSL, VPN, tokenization).
Excellent troubleshooting skills for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with ability to support both technical and non-technical users.
Proficiency in Zoho Desk, Zoho Projects, Postman, or comparable tools.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities across software, hardware, and network layers.
Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
Experience using service desk and project tracking software for documentation and task management

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
$96,500.00 - $128,700.00
