Broadcast Engineer
KTEN, the NBC, ABC, and CW affiliates in the Sherman-Ada DMA, is seeking a motivated Broadcast Engineer to support technical operations across studio and transmission facilities. This position combines traditional broadcast engineering responsibilities with hands-on IT and networking support.
This position reports to the Chief Engineer and supports day-to-day technical operations across all KTEN facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Broadcast Systems and Operations
Maintain and troubleshoot studio equipment, transmission systems, and signal paths
Monitor broadcast systems and respond to technical issues or outages
Support maintenance of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems related to broadcast facilities
Ability to safely work with high AC, DC, and RF voltages.
IT and Networking Support:
Support server infrastructure, including network switches, automation servers and file storage systems
Troubleshoot Windows workstations and Windows Server environments
Assist with system backups and basic network administration
Support VoIP phone systems and remote access services
Documentation and Projects:
Maintain equipment documentation, diagrams, and inventories
Assist with equipment upgrades and new system installations
Work with vendors and internal departments on technical needs
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience in IT, networking, computer systems, or electronics
Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and basic VLAN configuration
Experience supporting Windows-based systems
Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically
Comfortable working with hardware, cabling, and infrastructure
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical degree in electronics, IT, computer systems, or related field
Prior experience in broadcast, media, or production environments
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and work at studio and transmission facilities
Ability to work in varying weather conditions when required
Schedule:
Full-time position
Some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
