Documents patient care on peri-operative record

Clinical Preceptor
- Performs as clinical preceptor as assigned
Care of Environment and Equipment

Operates equipment according to manufacturer’s manual

Communicates patient information to the manager
Documents information
Charges for equipment and supplies
Uses computer systems efficiently
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General:
Operation of OR equipment
Operation of Central Supply equipment
Scheduling procedures
Specific:
Knowledge of procedures done at Crawford County Memorial Hospital and preference cards
Understanding of sterile technique
Anticipate surgeon’s needs
Keep a calm attitude in stressful circumstances
Education/Certification Requirements:
Prefer graduate of accredited Surgical Technologists program (RN’s and LPN’s are able to function as a scrub nurse with the same orientation as a scrub tech)
BLS
Scrub tech certification
Experience Requirements (mandatory and preferred):
Ability to care for all patient populations
One to two years recent experience in a surgical setting – scrub tech, RN, LPN
Two years as CNA who exhibits excellent knowledge of sterile technique will be considered
Qualifications

- Technical/other training or better in Related Fields
Licenses & Certifications

Associates - Nursing
Certified Nursing Assist
Experience
Preferred
2 years: CNA who exhibits excellent knowledge of sterile technique will be considered
1-2 year: Recent experience in surgical setting (Scrub Tech, RN or LPN)
