Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Industrial Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs complex material handling and automated conveyor systems in a large, highly automated distribution environment. This role focuses on predictive and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems, and ensuring equipment operates safely and reliably to support high-speed, robotics-driven operations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, inspect, repair, and maintain material handling equipment, including automated conveyor systems and related controls.

  • Perform quality predictive and preventative maintenance routines on material handling equipment, robotics, and associated systems, following established documentation and procedures.

  • Conduct battery changes and perform preventative maintenance on industrial batteries to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

  • Use blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to diagnose equipment issues and guide repairs.

  • Enter equipment downtime data into daily logs and accurately complete preventative maintenance (PM) sheets and work orders.

  • Track, organize, and store departmental inventory, including spare parts and maintenance supplies, to support timely repairs.

  • Apply knowledge of basic electrical components and electronic principles when servicing equipment and controls.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose material handling equipment systems, including automated conveyor systems and PLC-based controls, to minimize downtime.

  • Follow and demonstrate safety standards at all times, including adherence to equipment-specific and OEM safety guidelines.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications to document maintenance activities, track performance metrics, and communicate with team members.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, maintenance procedures, and system performance.

  • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to ensure equipment performance meets established expectations and performance metrics.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2+ years of experience conducting quality predictive and preventative maintenance procedures on industrial or complex systems.

  • 2+ years of experience in the repair of material handling equipment (MHE) or automated conveyor systems and controls.

  • 2+ years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics.

  • 2+ years of knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and electronic principles.

  • 2+ years of experience following and demonstrating safety standards in an industrial or maintenance environment.

  • 1+ year of experience troubleshooting and diagnosing material handling equipment systems.

  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Office products and applications.

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.

  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and motors.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environments performing diagnostics, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and creating work orders, especially on conveyor systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic input and output functions of building operations.

  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on reliability and efficiency.

  • Willingness to learn and grow within a rapidly evolving, robotics and automation-focused maintenance environment.

  • Experience with material handling equipment safety standards in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and general safety standards.

  • Associate degree or higher from a vocational school or college with a focus in Mechanical or Electrical fields.

  • 2+ years of apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field.

  • 2+ years of experience working with PLC-based control systems.

  • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deltona, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
