The Human Resources Generalist is a key contributor to the success of our Delavan, WI manufacturing operation, serving as the primary onsite HR partner for leaders and employees. This role fosters strong, productive relationships across the organization while administering and executing a broad range of human resource programs, including employee relations, talent management, recruiting, training and development, compensation and benefits support, compliance, and HR metrics.
This position is primarily based at our Delavan, WI location, with periodic travel to other Radius locations for meetings, events, collaboration, and operational support as business needs arise.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on Human Resources Generalist with manufacturing experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, onsite environment. They are approachable, pragmatic, and highly organized, with strong expertise across employee relations, recruiting, training, compliance, and HR operations. This individual builds trust with employees and leaders at all levels, communicates clearly, and handles sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. A proactive problem‑solver, the ideal candidate is comfortable supporting a 24/7 operation, balancing strategic HR initiatives with day‑to‑day support, and contributing to a safe, compliant, and positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations & Member Support
Serve as the frontline HR resource for employees and leaders, promoting an inclusive, positive, and respectful workplace culture.
Respond to employment‑related inquiries, escalating complex or sensitive issues as appropriate.
Participate in disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations; ensure timely, accurate documentation and fair, consistent application of policies.
Act as a mediator and problem‑solver to support effective resolution of workplace concerns.
Partner with HR leadership to implement initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
Talent Management, Training & Development
Lead and facilitate new‑hire orientations, ensuring employees understand safety, quality, and operational expectations from day one.
Develop internal talent pipelines by partnering with leaders on succession planning, career pathways, and role progressions.
Coordinate and support training initiatives by working with subject matter experts to deliver technical, safety, and professional development programs.
Talent Recruitment
Build and maintain strong recruiting pipelines by networking with local community organizations, technical schools, trade programs, and workforce agencies.
Develop and manage job postings that clearly communicate expectations, qualifications, and growth opportunities.
Support and grow internship and co‑op programs to develop future talent for the organization.
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Support
Administer compensation programs and support annual salary planning processes.
Provide administrative support related to benefits administration and employee inquiries.
Serve as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
Respond promptly to employment verification requests while maintaining confidentiality.
Compliance, Employment Law & Risk Management
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommended best practices.
Respond to unemployment claims and attend hearings as needed.
Support compliance with GMP, Food Safety, and Food Quality standards as required by company and regulatory agencies.
HR Operations, Metrics & Continuous Improvement
Participate in the development and tracking of HR metrics and performance indicators.
Contribute to monthly management reporting and operational meetings.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.
Safety & Workplace Practices
Model and promote safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Proactively identify safety concerns and partner with leaders to support corrective actions.
Support a culture of accountability, safety, and employee well‑being.
Work Schedule & Flexibility
Minimum of 45 hours per week.
Primarily onsite at the Delavan, WI location with flexibility to travel to other Radius locations as needed.
Willingness to support all production shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated teamwork and willingness to assist with additional projects as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution skills.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time‑management skills.
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with or ability to quickly learn Paycom HRIS.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Regular lifting up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb, bend, stoop, reach, and maintain balance.
Comfortable working in temperatures ranging from 60°F to 110°F.
Ability to wear required PPE, including hearing and eye protection.
Visual acuity to detect equipment alignment issues, defects, and variances.
