The Supervisor II, Laboratory (Lab) Hematology plays a crucial role in overseeing multiple functions within the laboratory. Responsibilities include ensuring the efficient workflow of laboratory testing, from sample processing through results reporting, and guiding teammate performance. This role evaluates and monitors compliance with service guarantees and specimen quality requirements, while ensuring adherence to corporate policies regarding job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality. The position may require working designated shifts, including day, evening, or night.
Responsibilities
Provide direction, communication, and oversight to teammates regarding departmental workflow to ensure effective implementation and performance.
Ensure teammate adherence to procedures and quality assurance requirements.
Participate in and lead the development of departmental policies and procedures for performance and quality assurance.
Serve as a resource to teammates, providing oversight and support to training and competency programs.
Monitor performance against established targets, goals, or metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Facilitate the resolution of organizational obstacles and communicate employment policies and opportunities to teammates.
Assist in teammate development through performance reviews, coaching, mentoring, and training.
Manage employment activities such as hiring, promoting, evaluating job performance, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals.
Maintain teammates’ records, including performance evaluations and compliance with company policy and applicable laws.
Monitor workflow and delegate responsibilities to team members, establishing staffing plans for effective use of teammates.
Resolve operational and quality issues related to workload and ensure coverage during teammate absences.
Maintain an active role in the laboratory’s quality improvement program and collaborate with leaders to develop and implement standard operating procedures.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 6-8 years experience as a Medical Technologist/Supervisor
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, biological sciences, or related field
FL Supervisor's license in Hematology
Certification by a professional laboratory certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, AMT)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with laboratory testing, quality control, and compliance
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to mentor and train team members
Proficiency in troubleshooting and process improvement
Work Environment
This position is located in a medical laboratory setting within the US. The laboratory is a state-of-the-art facility focused on kidney care, providing a challenging yet rewarding work environment. Team members are expected to collaborate and maintain a positive work culture, with a strong commitment to quality and patient care. The lab operates across multiple shifts, and teammates may be required to work day, evening, or night shifts.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $108000.00/yr.
