RIO GRANDE COUNTY HR WEEKEND COURT ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT in Del Norte, Colorado
*Manages court documents and provides reporting data to the State of Colorado, the District Attorney's Office, as well as County and District Courts. Responsible for ensuring that all weekend (Friday through Monday, which may include holidays) court and booking paperwork is sent and received during weekend court. Must be able to work within standard office procedures to achieve the required outcomes within established timeframes with the resources available. The employee must be able to exercise good judgement and diplomacy while maintaining confidentiality. *
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, verify, and evaluate existing systems if applicable
- Oversee that all weekend bookings are sent to the appropriate court
- Work closely with detention staff to ensure that proper entries are made in the RMS system
- Process any restraining orders from the court system on weekends
- Respond to inquiries and requests for more information from both internal and external sources under the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) as required
- Ensure that financial, legal, and/or administrative requirements and regulations are complied with
- Follow data protection protocols
- Classify and index records
- Work closely with the Sheriff's Office records unit, office manager, civil process unit, detentions staff, and administrative offices
- Make records accessible when needed
- Modify or purge entries
- Access Colorado Courts system as part of the employee's duties
- May be required to input crime statistics into NIBRS/UCR reports
- Attend trainings related to the job and remain up to date on changes to operations
- Be willing to perform other duties as needed or directed by the Sheriff
Qualifications:
- Must pass an extensive background check
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have a valid Colorado driver's license upon employment
- Current first aid/CPR certification or obtain within 3 months of hire
- Certification as a basis CCIC/NCIC operator within 6 months of hire
