Court Clerk I
General Responsibilities:
Under close supervision of the departmental supervisors, perform a variety of simple to moderately complex clerical work relating to legal procedures in Circuit and County Court.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or its equivalent required; and
At least one (1) year of experience in clerical work is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Thorough knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Working knowledge of modern office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and Adobe DC.
Skill to operate with appropriate speed and accuracy a computer, printer, and standard office business machines including, but not limited to, a calculator, copier, scanner, and fax.
Ability to type 30 correct words per minute.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships.
Ability to understand and follow simple to moderately complex oral and written instructions.
Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of simple to moderately complex records, compile data, and prepare reports.
